Definitely make reservations here. It's off the beaten path, away from the intolerable crowds in the city. It's delicious food made by people who clearly care. If they are still serving it, the "sushi del trippaio" is wonderful. Take my word for it. :-) Also, the trippy alla fiorentina.

We had dinner here at 8:30pm on a Wednesday night. No reservation needed but the two of us did wait a few minutes for a table. Not a problem! * Morellino di Scamprisono (€ 5) * Polpette di Lampredotto (€ 6): Not quite sure how to describe this one. I liked the polpette, they taste similar to how arancini in the States do. I thought the lampredotto was interesting and would have liked to try more of their lampredotto dishes. * Brie Fritto ai semi di Sesamo (€ 8): Soooo much cheese, and they fry things beautifully. Thin layer of breading that really lets the creamy brie shine. * Ravioli di Lampredotto con Cipolla di Tropea (€ 14): Like a soft meatball with depth... the sauce felt sad and sweet, prob because of the onions. I loved this one more than words can describe and wanted to eat the whole dish on my own. * Maccheronchetti al ragu di Caccia (€ 14): Good! Cooked to al dente perfection. A more savory dish. Overall, great flavors and portion sizing. Service was pleasant and good-natured, giving us a great impression of Florence. Il Magazzino clearly captures some in-the-know tourists' attention, but the restaurant will continue to have an Italian-only menu. Try them out!

A friend of mine recommended this place to me. Took a stroll around the neighborhood in Florence & walked into this gem. It was most definitely worth it. Many people shy away from "peasant food" when visiting other countries, but I think the best way to experience the local flavor is to really embrace the home style comfort foods. Tripe is one of those examples. Ignore your fears, it's delicious when prepared well and this place was above and beyond on the delicious scale.

If you're trying lampredotto for the first time here, you might find the polpette underwhelming. BUT: if you've never tried or enjoyed tripe, you absolutely need to try it here. texture like a soft, slightly chewy pasta, with amazing flavor and a perfect accompanying sauce. One of the standout meals of our entire trip to Florence. Delicious house red wine, too. Get there just before opening (at 7:30. not 7--sorry, Yelp!) and you probably won't even need a reservation. Great service, reasonable prices, and if none of the desserts appeals to you, there are gelato options nearby.

This is a tourist city. Because of this many of the restaurants service poor food at best. This restaurant clearly prepares all the dishes from scratch. The menu is small and only written in Italian. If you like well prepared dishes then try it out.
